Luke 8:1-3

Afterward He journeyed from one town and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. Accompanying Him were the Twelve and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, Joanna, the wife of Herod's steward Chuza, Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their resources.

The women who followed Jesus.

For these women to follow You was radical. They were from different sections of society. They were women who were not intimidated. They had encountered You my Lord. They had experienced You unconditional love for them. You touched them and their lives and they were not the same again. They were unafraid of the petty gossip and criticism of being part of Your circle providing for You and Your followers. Working, cleaning and using their own means to do it. They were generous and willing to serve. I want to follow You and I want to be just like them.

Job 10:12

In Your goodness You gave me life and watched over my breathing with care.

You made me just as I am, You redeemed me through Your Son, You fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Inspite of all my faults, failings and weaknesses, You see the potential - You see the person I will finally become through grace and I am so utterly special to You that You want me with You eternally. You watch over my breathing not casually, not as a spectator, but with care. In fact You breathe in me each breath I take and this breath gives me life. When my days on earth are over I shall cease to breathe on earth but shall continue breathing Your breath in eternity.

There is an intimacy suggested here between God Almighty and I that simply blows me away. Praise You my God, my Beloved!!!

Mark 9:35-37

He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, ‘Whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all.’ Then He took a little child and put it among them; and taking it in His arms, He said to them, ‘Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but the one who sent me.’

My Beloved, , You take all the values of the world and spin them on their head. The world wants us to push and shove in order to be first. You say, If someone wants to be first let him be last of all and servant of all. Blessed Mother Teresa and St. Francis of Assisi come to mind as wonderful examples of those who followed Your way.

Lord, children in our world today are used, misused and thought of as a nuisance or are over indulged to the point of stupidity lacking discipline and self-control. Your loving arms are around every child and You warn of serious consequences should we fail these little ones. In fact if we reject them, we reject Your Father and if we welcome them we welcome the Father.

Psalm 59:10-11

O my strength, I look up to You, for You O my God are my fortress. My loving God will come to help me.

God walks with us. He sends His angels to accompany us. He feeds us with Himself in order that we may be strong to fight and overcome evil.

When she came to the man of God at the mountain, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi approached to push her away. But the man of God said, ‘Let her alone, for she is in bitter distress; the Lord has hidden it from me and has not told me.’

When Elisha returned to Gilgal, there was a famine in the land. As the company of prophets was sitting before him, he said to his servant, ‘Put the large pot on, and make some stew for the company of prophets.’One of them went out into the field to gather herbs; he found a wild vine and gathered from it a lapful of wild gourds, and came and cut them up into the pot of stew, not knowing what they were. They served some for the men to eat. But while they were eating the stew, they cried out, ‘O man of God, there is death in the pot!’ They could not eat it. He said, ‘Then bring some flour.’ He threw it into the pot, and said, ‘Serve the people and let them eat.’ And there was nothing harmful in the pot.

My Beloved, everything in these verses speaks of You and our relationship with You. When I come to You I must cling to Your feet and not leave until You answer me. I must be persistent in prayer and tireless in my pleading.

Verses 38-31 is the deadly image of sin that can kill but You O Bread of Life have the power to take away its deadly poison with Your tender mercy, compassion and forgiveness.

Isaiah 27:2

This is what the Lord says, "Praise my fruitful vineyard! I the Lord am its Keeper, I water it every moment so that no one will harm it, day and night I guard it."

Of what shall I be afraid when the Lord God Most High assures me that He is my Keeper, that He waters me all the time with divine grace and that He guards me night and day so no harm will come to me? Thank Your Lord.

Psalm 19:8:16

The law of the Lord is perfect, it gives life to the soul; the word of the Lord is trustworthy; it gives wisdom to the simple.

The law of God commands us to love Him and our neighbor. The Word is Jesus.

The precepts of the Lord are right, they give joy to the heart; the commandment of the Lord are clear, they enlighten the eyes;

The precepts of the Church teach us to be selfless. The entire law is summed up in the two commandments given by Jesus – obey them and you will be pleasing to God and man alike.

The fear of the Lord is pure, it endures forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and altogether just and right.

To fear God is to love Him so completely that one is afraid to do anything that would hurt that friendship.

More precious are they than gold - even pure gold of the highest quality; they are much sweeter than honey, and drippings of the honeycomb.

What our God ordains and decides is perfect. Accept them in love and humility and one is at peace.

They are light to your servant, keeping them is indeed a great reward.

There is a certain freedom in walking in complete accord with what God wants.

But how can I discern my own errors? Forgive my failings of which I am unaware.

It is easy to deceive oneself into thinking what is wrong is right and v.v.

Help me also keep away from willful sin. Would that I walk blameless, and innocent of transgression.

May my God in His love preserve me from such error. To walk with God with the trust of a child free from grave sin enables me to live in harmony with my God, my neighbor, myself and the universe.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart find favor in your sight, O Lord – my redeemer, my rock.

May all my life praise You and may it be pleasing to You my Rock, my Redeemer, my Sure Foundation, my Beloved.

Psalm 50:15

Call on Me in times of calamity; I will deliver you and you will glorify Me.

My Beloved, when troubles come it is so very easy to take my focus away from You and fix my eyes on the trouble until they loom higher than the mountains and feel just as insurmountable. But when I turn to You and remember that You are the almighty, powerful God who is madly in love with me I am at peace. All I need to do is call on You, tell You my problems and trust You to handle it according to Your wisdom and will. Thank You.

Psalm 84:1-2

How lovely is Your dwelling place O Lord of hosts. My soul yearns, pines for the courts of the Lord. My heart and my flesh cry out for the Living God.

Today my Beloved, I understood what the psalmist meant when he wrote these words. I have had a taste of visiting You face to face in the Adoration Chapel and participated in the Holy Mass these weeks and received You in Holy Communion. Today I was not able to go and I am bereft. When I receive You, my heart becomes Your dwelling place and consuming You I am consumed by You.

John 14:23-28

Jesus answered him, ‘Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; and the word that you hear is not mine, but is from the Father who sent me.
‘I have said these things to you while I am still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, “I am going away, and I am coming to you.” If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I.

My beloved Jesus, it is not enough to give You lip service, but I must live the love I profess for You by being obedient. In keeping the Word, the Father and Son will make my heart a resting/dwelling place for Himself. The Word is the Father's Word sent by Him - the Word has accomplished in perfect humility and obedience, powered love all that the Father desired and now in this new age, the Father sends the Holy Spirit in the Name of Jesus to complete and confirm us by teaching, reminding, helping and refreshing us. The Prince of Peace gives us lasting peace, such peace that the world looks in amazement. I will be neither troubled or afraid for I love You my Jesus and I trust You.

John 12:14-15

Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it; as it is written: ‘Do not be afraid, daughter of Zion. Look, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!’

Through the eyes of the world this is a ridiculous picture. The powerful of this world travel with an army of security guards. No one can approach them especially not those without any influence. But the ways of God are a paradox. You my Jesus, as old Simeon prophesied, are a sign of contradiction. You are meek and gentle of heart and you promise that the meek will inherit the earth. You vanquished evil through an instrument of shame and torture. When You say, "Do not fear." We can trust You completely and be unafraid.

Teach me to be truly humble Lord. Give me a heart like Yours and Mother Mary's. Amen.

Proverbs 11:25

The warmhearted soul will prosper. He who waters will himself be watered.

Matthew 17:20

Truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, “Move from here to there”, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.’

Faith when exercised, no matter how small, has within itself the potential to grow, to expand, to deepen. It is like a mustard seed that has within it, small as it is, the potential to grow into a mighty shurb when it is planted. Faith that is strong, that has conviction, that believes that something is possible, then no matter how small that faith is when is put into practice it will grow. Such a faith can only grow deeper, stronger and more vibrant.

May the cloud of the Presence of the Lord overshadow me always. May I always listen and obey the Beloved Son of the Father and may His Word be my food and drink, then I shall be truly joyful.

Philippians 2:6-11

Though He was in the form of God, He did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death— even death on a cross. Therefore God also highly exalted Him and gave Him the Name that is above every other name, so that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus, the Son of God, became Man through the perfect acts of obedience and humility, powered by the force of agape love. Jesus, who from all eternity, was covered in the glory of His Father became incarnate.

He not only became man, but a servant. He said, "I came to serve not to be served and to give my life as a ransom for many." He allowed Himself to be humbled and crushed in the winepress of His passion, horrific crucifixion and death on the cross.

The proof of the Father's love for man was that it was His will that His Son, the Beloved, should give up His life and pour out His Blood as a ransom for our sins. The Blood of the Son, God made Man, was the price that was paid for our salvation. Jesus knew what was at stake - the life and salvation of every man, woman and child that was ever born from the beginning of creation until the end of the world - so He poured Himself out as an oblation, so that we might be redeemed.

And now, He is seated in radiant glory and splendor at the right hand of the Father and is given the Name that is more powerful than any other name. A Name when uttered causes the angels and saints to fall down prostrate in adoration, causes us to fall on our knees in wonder and gratitude for all the merits He has won for us in making us children of God. In Jesus, we become the family of God and co-heirs of the Kingdom of Heaven. Those in the underworld tremble with fear and everything that has life in all creation proclaims joyfully that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father forever and ever. AMEN.

The world may seem powerful and the people of the world with their riches, influence and power may seem invincible. But I know that I belong to God. I know that Jesus is my Good Shepherd therefore I shall want for nothing. He provides all that I need and He will fight the battle for me and with me. I shall be victorious in Him. He will fight and win my battles whether it is my home, my spouse, my children, my family, my friends, my workplace, my finances - in everything that is important to me and is required for my well being, both spiritual and temporal I will triumph in and with God my Savior and my Redeemer. "I have made Your Name known to those You gave me from the world. They were Yours and You gave them to Me and they kept Your Word."

I was given to You Beloved by the Father Himself, my Abba. I am part of His eternal plan. It is You my Lord who has revealed to me all that the Father is. In belonging to the Father, I also belong to You and the Holy Spirit.

Grant that I may be faithful in cherishing, keeping and living the Word of the Father with the help of the Holy Spirit all the days of my life. Amen

John 6:16-21

When evening came, his disciples went down to the shore

The disciples were tired - they were with You from early morning winding up the long day with the feeding of the 5000 and then cleaning up after they left .

Sometimes Lord, I get tired after all the work is done.

After a while they got into a boat to make for Capernaum on the other side of the sea for it was now dark and Jesus was not with them.

Between the time they were on the shore and got into the boat what were they discussing? This verse says that You were not with them my Lord.

I too make many plans, have heated discusions but I do not invite You into these discussions - all is being done without You.

But the sea was getting rough because a strong wind was blowing.

The natural outcome without You is that the sea gets rough, the winds of difficulty and uncertainty start blowing and I get buffeted around unable to find peace.

They had rowed about three or four miles, when they saw Jesus walking on the sea and He was drawing near to the boat. They were frightehed, but He said to them, ‘It is I; do not be afraid.’

I keep floundering without You and all the while Your eye is on me and then You come to me and seeing my fear You calm me with the beautiful words, "It is I, don't be afraid."

They wanted to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the shore to which they were going.

When I let go of my plans and ideas You will take me to the place where I am meant to be. Thank You.

Matthew 17:5-8

Peter was still speaking when a bright cloud covered them in its shadow, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is My Son, the Beloved, My Chosen One, listen to Him.

Just like Peter I am often so full of myself and yet in Your goodness and kindness You intervene, You cover me in the Shadow of Your Presence and Your remind me that Jesus is Your Beloved, the One You sent in order to redeem and save and I must listen to Him and obey Him.

On hearing the voice, the disciples fell to the ground, full of fear.

Often Lord I too am so afraid that I become paralysed with fear wondering what You will ask of me - instead of just trusting You for You are love, mercy, pity and compassion.

vs 7

But Jesus came, touched them and said, "Stand up, do not be afraid."

You never abandon me Lord, not only do You come, but You touch me personally in the Eucharist and every time and all the time You touch me spiritually. You tell me stand up and not be afraid. I must stand up, erect, firm, tall and ready - not curled up in fear or laziness or self-will.

When they raised their eyes, they no longer saw anyone except Jesus.

When I raise my eyes and take my gaze away from all other distractions, I will see nothing and no one else but Jesus. Jesus in every person I encounter.

"Remember this Myra, I never abandon my own."

The Lord's kindness is forever with those who fear Him. So is His justice, for their children's children, for those who keep His covenant and remember His commands, for those who put them into practice. The Lord has set His throne in heaven. He rules, He has power everywhere. Praise the Lord, all you His angels, you mighty ones who do His bidding, you who obey His Word.

What a perfect description of Jesus. Thank You Beloved, truly You are a God who saves. You bear my burdens. You have let me escape from death to sin and the loss of eternal life.

Thank You Lord for wisdom with which You continue to endow me. Thank You for showing me that true love requires sacrifice and love gladly gives up for the one who is loved. You have showm me the way my Beloved grant that I may walk in it.

This awesome God of love, life and power destined from all eternity that He would create me in order that I might know Him in Christ, love Him in Christ, be redeemed by Him in Christ - have knowledge of Him through Christ in the power of the Spirit and enjoy life with Him here on earth and have the fulness of life with Him in heaven. How blessed I am!

Jeremiah 31:16-18, 20

Yahweh says this to her: "Weep no more and wipe the tears of your eyes; your sorrow will have redress. They will come back from the enemy's land. There is hope for your descendants; your children will return to their own borders.

My Beloved, I want to fast on Saturdays for my children especially and for the spiritual growth of our family. Accept my fast Lord and hear and answer me, Amen.

My Beloved, once again You fill me with hope. I know that You love, even more the people I love and pray for daily. Thank You for assuring me that in the new life I live in You the mistakes of the past have no place.

Psalm 28:1-2, 6-8

To You O Lord, I call; my Rock, be not deaf to me. Hear my cry for mercy as I call to You for help as I lift up my hands towards Your innermost sanctuary. Blessed be the Lord! He has heard my cry for help. The Lord is my strength, my shield, my heart was sure of Him I have been helped and my heart exults, with my song, I give Him thanks. The Lord is the strength of His people, the saving refuge of His anointed.

Beloved, do we all look at the past with regret and wish we had done things differently? You word is clear though about looking back - it makes us immobile and unworthy of working for the Kingdom. Help me Lord!

Judith 16:13-15

Beloved Jesus, thank You for bringing me back home safely. Thank You that I am feeling much better today. Watch over my family back home. Heal my mother-in-law from her backache. Grant us all wisdom and the fear of the Lord so we may seek to please You always.

Beloved, this psalm expresses so beautifully how I long for You. Yes, my God, it is You I seek, my body longs for You and my soul thirsts for You. May I seek to praise and glorify You every moment of my life with every breath. I have come to the end of my holiday. You have been with me through eery difficulty, every doubt and You have enabled me to triumph in the end. Thank You.

I love the LORD, who listened to my voice in supplication, who turned an ear to me on the day I called. I was caught by the cords of death; the snares of Sheol had seized me; I felt agony and dread. Then I called on the name of the LORD, "O LORD, save my life!" Gracious is the LORD and just; yes, our God is merciful. The LORD protects the simple; I was helpless, but God saved me. Return, my soul, to your rest; the LORD has been good to you. For my soul has been freed from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. How can I repay the LORD for all the good done for me? I will raise the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD. I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people.

My Beloved, thank You for Your graciousness in helping me get a seat for Danny. I thank you for not letting me get entangled in the snares of trouble. Thank You Jesus.

Jesus felt the pain of being humiliated but not the resentment. I had to swallow my own resentment when I faced a little humiliation, in order to imitate Him.

The LORD answer you in time of distress; the name of the God of Jacob defend you! May God send you help from the temple, from Zion be your support. May we shout for joy at your victory, raise the banners in the name of our God. The LORD grant your every prayer! Now I know victory is given to the anointed of the LORD. God will answer him from the holy heavens with a strong arm that brings victory. Some rely on chariots, others on horses, but we on the name of the LORD our God. They collapse and fall, but we stand strong and firm.

My Beloved Jesus, I thank You for my life and all that has ocurred in it from the moment of my conception to this present moment. It is pure grace and love that has led me to the place where I now find myself. Continue my God to be with me until the end of my life's journey.

My Beloved, I said if You took me to the edge of the pit, I hope my faith will not fail or falter. I believe, You have led me there my Lord and my heart trembles within me. I cry out to You in the Words of the Psalmist of this Psalm 25. I have no one in all heaven or earth but You to whom I can have recourse. If You should turn away from me O Lord, where can I go?

Zeccariah 9:9
