Peter was still speaking when a bright cloud covered them in its shadow, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is My Son, the Beloved, My Chosen One, listen to Him.

Just like Peter I am often so full of myself and yet in Your goodness and kindness You intervene, You cover me in the Shadow of Your Presence and Your remind me that Jesus is Your Beloved, the One You sent in order to redeem and save and I must listen to Him and obey Him.

vs 6

On hearing the voice, the disciples fell to the ground, full of fear.

Often Lord I too am so afraid that I become paralysed with fear wondering what You will ask of me - instead of just trusting You for You are love, mercy, pity and compassion.

vs 7

But Jesus came, touched them and said, "Stand up, do not be afraid."

You never abandon me Lord, not only do You come, but You touch me personally in the Eucharist and every time and all the time You touch me spiritually. You tell me stand up and not be afraid. I must stand up, erect, firm, tall and ready - not curled up in fear or laziness or self-will.

When they raised their eyes, they no longer saw anyone except Jesus.

When I raise my eyes and take my gaze away from all other distractions, I will see nothing and no one else but Jesus. Jesus in every person I encounter.

The Lord's kindness is forever with those who fear Him. What a perfect description of Jesus. Thank You Beloved, truly You are a God who saves. You bear my burdens. You have let me escape from death to sin and the loss of eternal life.

Thank You Lord for wisdom with which You continue to endow me. Thank You for showing me that true love requires sacrifice and love gladly gives up for the one who is loved. You have showm me the way my Beloved grant that I may walk in it.

This awesome God of love, life and power destined from all eternity that He would create me in order that I might know Him in Christ, love Him in Christ, be redeemed by Him in Christ - have knowledge of Him through Christ in the power of the Spirit and enjoy life with Him here on earth and have the fulness of life with Him in heaven. Jeremiah 31:16-18, 20

Yahweh says this to her: "Weep no more and wipe the tears of your eyes; your sorrow will have redress. They will come back from the enemy's land. There is hope for your descendants; your children will return to their own borders.

"You have disciplined me and I have been disciplined. Bring me back, and I will return for You are my God, my Lord. Is not Ephraim my favored son, the child in whom I delight? Oftern have I threatened him, but I still remember him, my heart yearns for him. I must show him mercy, says Yahweh.

My Beloved, I want to fast on Saturdays for my children especially and for the spiritual growth of our family. Accept my fast Lord and hear and answer me, Amen.

To You O Lord, I call; my Rock, be not deaf to me. Hear my cry for mercy as I call to You for help as I lift up my hands towards Your innermost sanctuary. Blessed be the Lord! He has heard my cry for help. The Lord is my strength, my shield, my heart was sure of Him I have been helped and my heart exults, with my song, I give Him thanks. The Lord is the strength of His people, the saving refuge of His anointed.

Beloved, do we all look at the past with regret and wish we had done things differently? You word is clear though about looking back - it makes us immobile and unworthy of working for the Kingdom. Help me Lord!

Judith 16:13-15

I will sing to my God a new song. Lord, You are great and strong, invincible.

Great and glorious God, I love You, I thank You for Your mercy. Thank You for teaching me that great as Your love is and everlasting Your mercy - You are also a just God and that we are purified by a Father who loves us without end and who is not afraid to make the hard decisions for our good.

Beloved, this psalm expresses so beautifully how I long for You. Yes, my God, it is You I seek, my body longs for You and my soul thirsts for You. May I seek to praise and glorify You every moment of my life with every breath. I have come to the end of my holiday. You have been with me through eery difficulty, every doubt and You have enabled me to triumph in the end. Thank You.

I love the LORD, who listened to my voice in supplication, who turned an ear to me on the day I called. I was caught by the cords of death; the snares of Sheol had seized me; I felt agony and dread. Then I called on the name of the LORD, "O LORD, save my life!" Gracious is the LORD and just; yes, our God is merciful. The LORD protects the simple; I was helpless, but God saved me. Return, my soul, to your rest; the LORD has been good to you. For my soul has been freed from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. My Beloved, thank You for Your graciousness in helping me get a seat for Danny. I thank you for not letting me get entangled in the snares of trouble. Thank You Jesus.

Jesus felt the pain of being humiliated but not the resentment. I had to swallow my own resentment when I faced a little humiliation, in order to imitate Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in Yahweh with all Your heart; do not rely on our own insight. Let His Presence pervade all your ways and He will protect your foot from the snare.

Isaac grew, and on the day of the child's weaning, Abraham held a great feast.

Jesus, You ask me if I have been weaned so that the Father can throw a banquet for me. Help me to grow and mature in You my Lord.

My Beloved, I said if You took me to the edge of the pit, I hope my faith will not fail or falter. I believe, You have led me there my Lord and my heart trembles within me. I cry out to You in the Words of the Psalmist of this Psalm 25. I have no one in all heaven or earth but You to whom I can have recourse. If You should turn away from me O Lord, where can I go?

Zeccariah 9:9

My Beloved with You beside me I can calm all my fears. I have no need to be anxious or afraid for You my God are with me. I thank You my Jesus for the place that You have arranged for Danny in the college of Your choice and the stream of Your choice. I know that Your will is perfect. May Your will be made perfect not only in my life but in the lives of all I love. Thank You Lord.

Your Maker is to marry you: Yahweh Sabaoth is His Name. With everlasting love I have had mercy on you. Now I swear not to be angry with you and never again to rebuke you. Whatever your petition is Queen Esther, it shall be granted. Whatever request you make shall be fulfilled, even if were half my kingdom. The king held out the golden scepter to her, and she rose and stood before him.

Matthew 6:8 Your Father knows what you need even before you ask Him.

"Myra, you know how greatly loved you are. Let all your head knowledge sink to your heart. Be boldly confident in my love for you. Faith is tested in difficult circumstances - do not be found wanting. It is easy to complain and moan. It is more to your benefit to believe, hope and trust.

Sometime God take us to the edge of the pit in order that we might cling more and more tightly to Him.

My Beloved Jesus, grant that I may always live in Your Presence. What a beautiful blessing this is O Lord. Thank You for blessing me. Keep my gaze fixed on You. Keep my heart fused between Your own Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Let me love You Lord with every fibre of my being, with every heart beat and pulse beat. I want to be all Yours now and forever.

Tobit 12:6-9

Raphael called the two men aside privately and said to them: "Thank God! Give him the praise and the glory. Before all men, honor and proclaim God's deeds, and do not be slack in praising him. A king's secret it is prudent to keep, but the works of God are to be declared and made known. Praise them with due honor. Do good, and evil will not find its way to you. Prayer and fasting are good, but better than either is almsgiving accompanied by righteousness. A little with righteousness is better than abundance with wickedness. It is better to give alms than to store up gold; for almsgiving saves one from death and expiates every sin. Those who regularly give alms shall enjoy a full life.

My Beloved, You remind me in these verses to thank God and give Him all the glory for the marvellous things He has done and is doing for me. You also remind me to do good, to fast and to give alms and to live a just life.

Tobit 8:15-16

My beloved Jesus, looking at the past is futile, we become immobile - a pillar of salt like Lot's wife. You want me to keep my gaze fixed on the goal and to move in faith, hope and love. You who created me will lead me, for You have made me for Yourself. You knew me in my mother's womb and You will help me. You will give me all I need to become what You have destined me to be. You end with a note of assurance for You know how weak I am and so You say, "Do not be afraid or be troubled." Thank You my Jesus.

My Jesus, You know I am weak, You know I am afraid and every Scripture verse through which You have spoken to me today assures me that with You at my right hand no evil can touch me. My Jesus, as long as You are in the boat of my life I need not fear no matter how difficult my circumstances or the troubles that assail. It does not matter even if it seems You are asleep as long as Your Presence is there within me for I know that at any time You can command and quell all the disturbances in my life. I trust You and I thank You Jesus.
